I found this 1950 newsreel clip of ex-servicemen Bill Pond greeting his adopted five year old Korean son heartwarming. What a loving person Mr. Pond (and his mother)must have been. It would be interesting to know what happened to them.

Um....What Do I Say To This?
Wow! Talk about werid American newsreels! How the hell did this boy even get here? Why is he being adopted by some soldier guy? This guy's wife doesn't know what to make of all of this. This is pretty crazy! Wonder what happened to that crazy kid? He doesn't look that happy. He's like 'What the hell is going on?But the biggest mystery of all!' Why didn't MS3K ever get a copy of this? http://www.monkeyplace.com/bawls

Thank you Mr. American G.I.!
Pretty funny short that packs a lot into it's 30 second running time. Essentially a newsreel story about a young Korean boy being adopted. What's really funny is watching how his adopted father runs and slides into him, almost kneeing the boy in the groin. Then watching the mother, who isn't really sure what to make of the whole situation. She perks for the Camera, but I wonder what became of little Kim..
